WHAT TO EXPECT

What to expect before your session

I’m really looking forward to photographing you and creating your story for years to come. Here’s a quick guide of what to expect before your session.

ONCE YOUR SESSION IS CONFIRMED:
I will touch base and send you through your invoice, contract and any questions relevant to your session so I can get to know you better! Your deposit will be due within 7 days so I can lock in your session date and then the remaining amount is due to day prior to the session.

THE WEEK OF YOUR SESSION:
I will get in touch and make sure you are all ok to go ahead for your session and answer any further questions you have. We will also make a wet weather plan if it’s looking a little risky weather wise on the session day.

THE DAY BEFORE YOUR SESSION:
Your final payment for the session is due. I’ll also contact you via email or text and confirm the session details one last time. I will also give you my phone number so you can contact me for anything on the session day.

The day of your session

OUTDOOR SESSIONS:
We’ll meet up at our arranged location. If you’re delayed or stuck in traffic, please text and let me know. Once at the location, we’ll jump straight into the shoot. If you have children, I’ll try keep things fun starting with a fun game so everyone loosens up and gets used to me being around with my camera.

I’m very intuitive with children and I totally understand that they may be shy, nervous, tired or just having a bad day. I’ll do my best to make the session fun and as relaxing as possible for you all! If there’s any tips or info you would like to provide prior to the session about any of your family members, please don’t hesitate to ask.

IN-HOME SESSIONS:
When I arrive, I’ll introduce myself and would love to get a tour of your home so I can see which the best areas will be for style and light. Natural light makes for beautiful images so I’ll get you to open up blinds and curtains and turn off any bright overhead lights if needed.

The rest of the session will be really fun and relaxed; I’ll give you some direction about what to do and where to go in the house depending on the style of shoot we are doing.

FAQS

• What should I/WE wear?

Once you’ve booked in I’ll send you a client guide which will give you examples of colour combinations that really work on camera. This doesn’t mean you need to buy an entirely new wardrobe! We can make what you have work, I’m always happy to be sent photos of your outfits prior to your session to help guide you.

• What if it rains?

Rain is the only weather condition I can’t shoot in – while overcast is possibly one of the best! If it happens to be raining or is scheduled to rain that day we can reschedule at no extra cost.

• What if we’re sick?

I totally get that illness is unplanable and doesn’t make for great energy for a session. If you or one of your kids is sick I am more than happy to reschedule I just ask you let me know as soon as possible. And the same goes for me – if I happen to be sick I’ll let you know as soon as I possibly can and we’ll reschedule for another day.

• When will I get my images?

Your full range of images will be supplied within 4 weeks via an online gallery. Early delivery can be arranged for an additional fee.

• Do you have payment plans?

I understand that investing in photos can be a big undertaking for many so I am more than happy to arrange a four payment plan in the lead up to your session. Get in touch with me to work out the details.

• What time is best for sessions?

Golden hour is the best time to photograph, in winter that means shooting at about 3pm and in summer we can push it back as far us 6-7pm. This may be tough for kids, but if you bring along snacks it usually does the trick!

I’ll check sunset times on the day and let you know if we need to adjust the time slightly to accomodate that beautiful afternoon light. I promise it is totally worth it!
